I graduated from Linfield College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts and Psychology. I spent a year in California as a stage management intern as soon as I graduated from college. But my passion for weddings started long before being in my friends wedding at the age of 21.
At 19 I stage managed my first show. This entailed not only making sure that the actors and technicians did their jobs, but also made sure the show lived up to the standards the director meant for it to have. It is the job of the stage manager to keep the director's image alive without him/her being present. This was not the best part of the job. The best part was seeing reaction on the audience's faces when they were inspired from the show.
When I started attending weddings I fell in love. Not with the reactions to the audiences faces but the faces of the bride and groom. This was their special day. A wedding planner is there to make it easier on them. Not to relinquish the planning of their special day, but to take on all the difficult parts. Keeping your thoughts organized, keeping all the contracts, and setting up for your special day to personify your ideas are our specialties.
Since realizing the love of organizing I have helped with many parties (hosting as well as helping out), planned my best friends wedding, given advice to many different brides on their weddings, and was an intern for Bridal Bliss.
